This 8×10 study on canvas panel was painted over three days, December 15–18. The piece is inspired by Vincent van Gogh’s Bedroom in Arles, focusing on the distorted perspective, simplified forms, and expressive line work that define the original. I approached this as a close observational study, working in layered passes to build color relationships gradually rather than copying exact shapes. The skewed angles were intentionally preserved to maintain the tension and movement present in Van Gogh’s interior scenes.
