“A Pair of Shoes” is my contemporary study inspired by Van Gogh’s iconic worn-boot compositions. This piece focuses on weathered leather, softened edges, and the honest character that everyday objects develop through use. Loose brushwork and muted earth tones bring out the scuffs, folds, and shadows, giving the boots a rugged, lived-in presence.

Painted on an 8×10 canvas panel, the work blends realism with expressive mark-making, emphasizing texture and mood over strict detail. It’s a small but powerful study in form, light, and personality—proving that even simple objects can carry stories.
