Studies in Realism

This collection represents an ongoing exploration of classical realism through direct observation and disciplined technique. Every painting in this series is an original concept, composed and developed from my own reference, imagination, and design – never copied from another artist’s work.

These pieces are studies in seeing: examinations of proportion, anatomy, atmosphere, and the quiet character found in everyday subjects. Inspired by the craftsmanship of 19th-century realism, each work is built with careful attention to natural light, accurate form, and honest texture.

Brushwork is intentional and restrained, allowing tone and structure to carry the image rather than effects. The aim of this body of work is simple: to pursue truth in paint through patience, observation, and respect for the enduring tradition of representational art.
